The project itself took time. But after a good month's time of hard work, it was complete! And it really is quite nice.
So summer is leaving us, though I am hardly sad that the thought of cooler weather, the demanding and tiresome hours to come in these next months leave me feeling rather nervous. But it was a lovely summer for me and I hope it was for all of you as well. Here are my five highlights. I had many things going on this summer despite the lack of travel plans and social gatherings. And sometimes that's nice, being at home doing your own thing. One major project (maybe the main project) this summer was the building of our new gazebo in our garden. The long hot summer months leave that area right outside the backdoor hotter than we'd like and often makes summer full of unnecessary dread. The project itself took time. But after a good month's time of hard work, it was complete! And it really is quite nice. We had a dinner party in mid-July. A nice small gathering of close family friends who we hadn't seen for quite some time. One of my favorite things to serve at these dinner parties is a fruit punch with jello. The exciting part is choosing and cutting out the shapes for the jello. This year's theme was daisies as you can see. My newest handbag! My mom surprised me with this bag a little over a month ago. We had seen quite a few Imoshion bags of late, and I really liked the embellishments that many of the bags had on the handles and straps. The inside lining is a gorgeous paisley design in green, orange and a rich bronze. Not to mention, it's a nice roomy bag, so everything fits! My go to shoes of this past summer, a gorgeous pair of White Mountain Pewter Flower Ballet Flats. They are extremely comfortable (wore them during our long impromptu day trip to SF and my feet weren't hurting at all!) Also the color and flower design is perfect classy yet casual, so you're not overdressed but definitely not under dressed as well! And a decent 1 inch heel with a padded foot-bed doesn't hurt :) Mom's delicious lemon cake! It's definitely one of my all-time favorites, especially in the summer. A cool refreshing dessert or any-time snack. I think I'll have to make it a couple times soon though, next summer's way too far off!
